OUR HISTORY
OUR STORY
With a career that soon transcended borders, Hugo Marino Romero —a journalist of Peruvian origin— began his journey in football journalism covering his first major event at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. From then on, he consolidated a constant presence on the international stage, with coverage in Italy 1990, the United States 1994, France 1998 and Japan-Korea 2002, in addition to five editions of the Copa América and multiple tournaments and friendlies in the United States.
His media career included collaborations with El Nuevo Herald and roles at the Office of Cuba – US International Broadcasting (Radio Martí). During his time in Washington, D.C., he led the soccer section at the newspaper El Latino and later at El Pregonero. Later, in New York, he took over as editor of Fútbol en el Mundo magazine, expanding its editorial reach and solidifying his profile in the industry.
Subsequently, he embarked on his own publishing project with the creation of Don Deporte Sports Magazine, reaffirming his vision and commitment to the development of sports journalism.
That same vision is what drives the launch of Fútbol en América – The Magazine, a platform that gathers that experience and projects it towards a new stage, with the same conviction of telling the story of football from the inside, with criteria, identity and international reach.
